i send my love to you

my last years in high school was when i discovered erasure, most likely introduced by tom or john. they were definitely music-obsessed like i was, and we spent many a night in tom's room spinning albums and swapping secrets.

although it could have been through kroq, or from one of kate's and my trips to the record store that introduced us. i remember the two of us seeing them open for duran duran, and being the only ones who knew who they were. we spun around to their music in the pit, singing along.

wild! wasn't my favorite album of theirs, though i did like it. wonderland was always my favorite, along with the innocents.

blue savannah song
oh its a blue savannah song
somewhere cross the desert
sometime in the early hour
in a restless world
on the open highways

my home is where the heart is
sweet to surrender to you only
i send my love to you

blue savannah song
oh its a blue savannah song
racing cross the desert
at a hundred miles an hour
to the orange side
through the clouds and thunder

home is where the heart is
sweet to surrender to you only
i send my love to you

i'm on my way back
and your love will bring me home
i'm travelling fast
and your love will bring me home
will i discover
that your love will bring me home?

somewhere cross the desert
sometime in the early hour
to the orange side
through the clouds and thunder

my home is where the heart is
sweet to surrender to you only
i send my love to you
